Britta Pudelko

The main focus of this technique class lies on the anatomically correct work with our instrument, the body. The goals are a free and dynamic way of moving, to become clear where the movement initiates from and to find a way to move with more efficiency.
In the beginning of the class we take our time to arrive in our body, to discover our skeleton, to open up our joints and to find the connections within our body and the space. Based on this work we create movement sequences, which start very simple and allow us to apply the information from before. Through a more complex choreography during the last part of the class we have the chance to use the technical work to express our individual and theatrical talents.
Britta Pudelko went throughout her dance career from a classical and technical movement base to a much more open and contemporary way of moving. She is strongly influenced by the work of Stephen Petronio, Jeremy Nelson, Luis Lara Malvacias, Susan Klein und Barbara Mahler. She has danced with Bernard Baumgarten, Robert Poole, Christoph Winkler, Michael Clark and others. In 1997  Britta founded together with Katrin Geller the company Pathfinders, for which she choreographed four pieces until 2000. Since 2001 Britta is a member of the theatre and opera company under the directorship of Achim Freyer and worked with him amongst others at Staatsoper, Berlin, Teatr Wielki, Warsaw and Los Angeles Opera. From 2004 to 2006 Britta worked with the choreographer Akram Khan as rehearsal director, choreographic assistant and dancer for his world touring production of "MA”. Britta is also a regular guest teacher for Sasha Waltz & Guests, Bolzano Danza and teaches at Tanzfabrik, Berlin.
