Looking, moving, talking... Re-thinking dance history/ies

Tanzfabrik Berlin is almost 40 years old! How has this institution contri-buted to the history and evolution of dance in the city? Artists and researcher of dance history have set off on the search for forgotten stories involving this innovative space and shed light on the institutional structures involved in the development of training, production and presentation opportunities. What were the beginnings of contact improvisation in Berlin? What else came into being then? How has Tanzfabrik reflected the sociopolitical situation over the course of the last few decades? This look back in history presents choreographic research with collected audio and video documents, interviews and conversations in a traversable installation.
