Workshop with Rob Hayden
In the frame of Sommer Tanz 2016

This workshop is designed to unlock the flow of living impulses within the body. By doing so, we allow our attention, intention and awareness to guide our work and flow more naturally. The primary and practical focus throughout the workshop will be on the delicate meeting point between precision and organicity. Physically demanding tasks will be proposed each day that deal with elements of physical, psychological, and emotional risk. These tasks will challenge our individual limitations and invite us to go beyond them, revealing our unique presence as performers within the context of material being proposed. Utilizing spatial awareness and sensitivity, we will work with qualities of speed, lightness, heaviness, softness and pliability, stillness and gravity. Movement will be explored as a "theatrical act" rather than simply as a "technique".
