Description

From a creative point of view meditation/mindfulness, in it’s different forms, provides a bountiful route into self-awareness and feeling connectivity, enabling access to internal qualities, ideas and processes that can be the inspiration for expression. Alternatively it also suggests and encourages a more aloof relationship to these aspects, implying the greatest creativity is in the act of choiceless listening itself, with expression as a potential interruption to the deepening experience. In this workshop we will explore these paradoxically contradictory and complimentary pulls between performance, personal expression and meditation. We will be blending internal and external meditations with voice-movement work and the spoken/written word, working from stillness and silence through to highly dynamic vocal-physical states of emotion.
