Le Jardin

Performance by Ginevra Panzetti & Enrico Ticconi
In the frame of Open Spaces#3-2016

Gardens always have been considered ideal places, recalling the symbolism of pleasure and the harmonic relationship between humans and nature. While shaping those places, our longing for the beautiful and the lush, the delightful and the peaceful especially culminates in the nostalgic recollection of the mythological Garden of Eden. At the same time, gardens are also expressions of an utterly anthropocentric covering up of nature. In Le Jardin, two figures are wandering inside a landscape that is constantly transformed by their gestures. They rearrange their surroundings while embarking on a trial of strength with themselves and the space.

Choreography, concept, performance, costume: Ginevra Panzetti & Enrico Ticconi | Sound: Demetrio Castellucci | Set, light: Vìctor Fernàndez De Tejada Pequeño | Dramaturgy: Thomas Schaupp | With kind support by Einstiegsförderung der Berliner Senatskanzlei – Kulturelle Angelegenheiten, Tanzfabrik Berlin, PACT Zollverein Essen, Teatro Comandini/Osservatorio Cesena and Hochschulübergreifendes Zentrum Tanz (HZT) Berlin.

Ginevra Panzetti & Enrico Ticconi

Ginevra Panzetti and Enrico Ticconi have been working as a duo since 2008. Their artistic research interlaces dance and visual art. Deepening themes related to the historical union between communication, violence and power, they draw on ancient imaginaries, creating hybrid figures or images between history and contemporaneity.
Both graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome and attended Stoà, School for rhythmic movement and philosophy, led by Claudia Castellucci.
In 2010 they moved to Germany and delved into mutually complementary paths: Ginevra studied Media Art at HGB in Leipzig and Enrico Dance, Context, Choreography at HZT in Berlin.
