Billie Hanne is a Belgian dance maker. She reimagines tradition and pushes boundaries in visceral works at the nexus of dance, choreography, visual art, composition and a new form of poetry. Billie runs a dance company, performs solo and collaborates with others. In her company, Billie & Wheelgod (since 2012), she directs dancers to make pieces that fulfil poetic directives. So far she has presented eight solo works (Hollyhocks, Deep Brown Sea, Daisy …. ) that were shown all over Europe. She also creates commissioned works and happily lends her services to other artists in various set ups. Currently her career spans ten years. She was a trained gymnast from the age of 4. She studied ancient poetry and literature in Belgium and Greece before entering the dance scene in 2008.
