Gaya Dandara is a Brazilian dancer, choreographer and has a master's degree in theatre education from Belo Horizonte. She completed her dance training in classical and contemporary dance from 1998 to 2005 at Grupo Corpo in Brazil. She then specialised in scenic anthropology and ethnoscenology at the Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais- Brazil and in traditional and contemporary African dances with choreographer Germane Acogny at the École des Sables in Senegal. She leads several artistic and educational projects between South America, Europe and Africa.
