Maikon K is a performance artist and dramaturg born in Brazil and based in Berlin. The core focus of his work is the body and its capacity to change perceptions. It is influenced by a shamanic perspective in which the performer unfolds himself into different realities through specific body techniques, using sound, dance, visual signs and ritualized activities. Maikon K uses states of consciousness, dark humor, a preoccupation with the relationship between the sacred and the profane, and performative devices of intensity and the grotesque to provoke ritual.
