Juan Gabriel Harcha

Raised in Chile, Juan Gabriel Harcha completed a degree in sociology and conducted research on innovation and artistic processes before moving to Berlin in the late 2000’s. He concluded the program «Dance, Context, Choreography» at HZT Berlin in 2013, and showed the remarkable solo «Angela Loij» in Sophiensaele a year later. By means of a dance grant from the Berlin Senate, he conducted visual research on the materiality of Tull and presented the results at Tanznacht 2014 in Berlin. Funded by Fondos de Cultura / FONDART and in collaboration with Museo de Historia Natural de Concepción (CL), he researched on the symbiosis of lichens across Chilean’s temperate and rain forests, together with local scientists and artists, presenting the results at «Museo de la Exploración R. A. Philippi» in Valdivia. In parallel to his freelance work, he assumed production management at Tanzfabrik Berlin from 2016-2020, and is currently responsible for administration at the European network apap - FEMINIST FUTURES (www.apapnet.eu).
