The Resonating Body

Performance-Projekt with Camilla Milena Fehér

Choreography – Composition – Performance

Within this performance project we will focus on the concept of 'the resonating body’. How does sound affect us? What resonates within you? What makes you vibrate? Hearing warns us and puts us in different states. Every sound goes through us and changes our heart rate and breathing. Our physiology and psychology react to sounds thus we are sensitive listening bodies. In this project we will work with this knowledge and deepen an understanding of dance and movement that comes from hearing and listening with our whole body. Our emotional and cognitive functioning is influenced by the environment, by the sound that surrounds us. Sound shapes our movements, our way of being. Is there silence - what is noise? What is that noise? Noise? We focus on the role of the body in the combination of choreography and composition and question modes of movement, frequency, vibrations, dynamics, rhythm and space through human and non-human bodies.

Body, movement, dance, objects, space, chance, sound, light, rhythm, breathing, beating, running, falling, striving, sitting, lying, walking, sliding, flying, from far to very close, somewhere undefinable, close to me, close to you, all over the place, dominant, softly, warm, robotic, human, excessive, simple, memory of sound, echo of sound, echo of movement, a chorus of dance like a swarm…

At the end of the project we will present a set of ideas we have developed throughout the period of the performance project in front of an audience.

Fee: 190 € / red: 170 € / professional dancers: 150 € | Application for the project: mueller@tanzfabrik-berlin.de

Additionally you can join the Contemporary/dance-research class with Camilla Fehér  24.2.-8.4.2020
The class is open to anyone who wants to move, dance, experiment with repetitive movements, explore details within their own range and strengthen the body within a flow of movement. The aim of the class is to get more centred and more aware of one’s own body, the others and the space around us. - We will work from simple movement-patterns to more complex articulation of the body. Repetition and loops form a working method within electronic music. With these ideas we will inform our movements and change the dance. Sequences will be reformulated and redesigned throughout the class. Moments of improvisation will allow you to research further upon given ideas and material.

Mon & Wed 18:15-19:45 | Fee: For people joining the performance project: 110 € for the training period during the project / For everybody else: 10x card: 100 € / red.: 90 € / prof.: 80 €

Camilla Milena Fehér

Camilla Fehér, studied at the Codarts/Rotterdam as a docent for dance, improvisation and choreography and completed her studies at the Dasarts/Amsterdam with a Master of Performance/Theatre. Since 2011 Camilla Fehér and Sylvi Kretzschmar have formed a performance duo under the name SKILLS. Skills works with political issues through interviews that are transformed into lyrics and performed in their concert performances. The role of the body is questioned in the live performance of electronic music on stage. We install landscapes with objects and create dances while inhabiting these sound and landscape images. www.we-are-the-skills.de
