From Partnering to Flow

Kurs with Anna Weißenfels

An easy way into contemporary dance
Warming up through a set of partnering exercises offers a playful way into physicality and mobility. Thus we can discover the natural ease that comes with movement, experiencing a nourishing, physical support. By listening to a partner we tune into our body awareness and also open up for different kind of movement qualities. In this state we can naturally dive into movement and dance sequences with a sense of flow. After gaining a clear orientation and understanding of spacial movement in contact with a partner we will repeat and modify the same sequences focusing on our individual movement. Based on this we will also look into the embodiment of more complex sequences and choreographic elements that play with both gravity and momentum, release and compactness, precision and softness.
