Water Sports

Performance · Premiere by Karol Tyminski
In the frame of Open Spaces - Laughing & Loving

»Water Sports« is a dance performance where the central figure is Gardener, a perverse allusion to the problematic human interventions into ecology of things. »Water Sports« speaks about a romantic-sexual relation between humans and an Ocean, where the performers become the creators and the care takers of water gardens, exploring care, sexuality and physical relationality in a cross-matter dancing.

Cross-matter dancing - sexuality of things.

Karol Tyminski

Karol Tymiński is a Polish choreographer/performer based in Berlin, co-founder of Center in Motion - Choreographers Workspace in Warsaw. He graduated from P.A.R.T.S. in year 2006 and previously from Warsaw Ballet School. Tymiński in his works deviates from formal aspects and focuses on the explorations of the human body on the very physical level, making it the source of the choreographic material. He aims to speak about human condition, reaching the emotional side of the performer by penetrating his physicality what was demonstrated in his earlier pieces such as „Doll House” (2011) „Beep” (2013) „Pussy” (2014) „Liminal” (2015) - commissioned by Icelandic Dance Company or „This is a musical” (2015).
