The goal of the class is to incorporate the joy of moving and sweating together into our daily routine, through a careful balance of sensorial exploration and technical challenges. The class is constructed around free explorations and exercises borrowed from contemporary dance techniques, ballet, and somatics (pliés, dégagés, turns, jumps, etc). We start with exercises that loosen, mobilize, and strengthen the physical potential of our joints, muscles, and posture. We focus on the breath, mobilization of the spine, strengthening of the core, articulation of the foot, working on one leg, folding and unfolding of the bigger joints of the arms and legs. We will train coordination, visualization, cardio, the usage of various speeds and momentum.
