Rekindling the Body-Consciousness

Workshop with Felix Ofosu Dompreh
In the frame of OsterTanz 2023

In this workshop different exercises will be introduced which will help you connect your body and mind, using deconstructed dance elements from Neo-African movement vocabularies. You will be guided into various healing movement techniques in the Warmup, that will enable you to feel grounded and further help you take control and understand your own moving body. The workshop is also aimed to lead you to discover ways to move in correlation to polyrhythmic compositions and Neo-African movement patterns.

»Neo-African dances are different modern African dance movements and techniques developed and practiced by people of African descent.«

Accessibility Note
The workshop will be held in English and/or German spoken language in consultation with the group. Exercises include movement vocabulary requiring coordination and memory skills. It is very physical, often in continuous flow and requires good basic health and dance experience. Live music plays an important role, as it will be about the interplay of polyrhythm and movement. Information about our location & studio access in Kreuzberg, which unfortunately are not wheelchair accessible, can be found here. For questions or more information, please contact Zoé Duflot & Elisabeth Leopold at workshop@tanzfabrik-berlin.de.
