Description

"Radical Flesh : Tender Armour" is an advanced dance workshop led by Artistic Director and choreographer Kianí del Valle, designed for professional dancers who are eager to challenge their perceptions of movement and embrace vulnerability as a powerful source of creativity. Participants will engage in deep exploration and bold experimentation, communicating authentically through their bodies, allowing them to unlock hidden truths and emotions expressed through movement. The workshop emphasizes challenging physical boundaries while developing a parallel dramaturgical writing practice that enriches participants as both performers and creators. By intertwining movement and writing, dancers will cultivate a holistic approach to their artistry, gaining insights into the relationship between the body and the narratives that accompany it. Throughout the sessions, participants will expand their own movement vocabulary while immersing themselves in Del Valle's unique movement language through dynamic choreographic sequences. Concurrently, evolving in a 5-day intensive practice that examines the relationship between memories, dreams, actions, and methodologies. Together, we will explore the body as both a delicate vessel and a resilient protector, strengthening the connection between our inner emotional landscapes and unlocking a flow of storytelling through flesh and armour.
