Workshop with Ami Shulman
In the frame of Sommer Tanz 2016

The workshop will explore aspects of somatic principles and awareness both independently and within the context of a contemporary technique class. We will take select concepts from the Feldenkrais method, investigate them as functional aspects of the anatomical and experiential self and we will relate this somatic information into a contemporary technique context. The technique part of the workshop will be a highly dynamic exploration, focusing on floor work as an essential component for integrating full body connectivity and proprioceptive awareness. Through the somatic context we will discover how the efficiency and clarity of movement liberates the form, enhancing the movement potential of the individual while allowing for a deeper range of physical expression.
