Workshop with Daria Faïn
In the frame of Winter Tanz 2018/19

Daria Faïn’s workshop offers the foundations of her movement and performance approach C O R E
M O T I O N, which is a performance and healing practice, that Daria has developed over 35 years. It is informed by an acute research on architecture, neuroscience, linguistics, psychology and energetic states and is the result of a deep exploration of cultural dynamics between her European cultural background, her Asian studies and the multicultural landscape of artists in North and South America. The first part, Inner Structure, uses QiGong principles to strengthen the body, open energy centers, and develop understanding of the structural alignment of the body and its relation to gravity. The second part, Contemplative Action, is a guided exploration of the correlation between organs, emotions, sensory perception, energy and intellect. Taking place in winter, the underlining of the course will be the water element related the kidneys and to “life force”. Participants will also be transmitted movement scores from her current creative process of her new piece “Landing Sites”. Interview with Daria Fain by Marjana Krajac

Bring images, objects, or text that evokes the water element for you, and a notebook.
