The Iliad

Performance by Felix Mathias Ott

In the frame of Open Spaces #1-2014

The construction of the Trojan Horse – a metaphor for transformations that succeed in upturning a world by fraud and unexpected deceptions. Felix Ott‘s new piece is more than just a recount of ‘The Iliad‘ by Homer: Three men are controlling the plot with archaic force and energy, creating Trojan spaces. A choreography of constructing and destroying turns into suggestive imagery and an acoustic and visual symphony, that entices the spectators to face their own desires. Collage-like ‘The Iliad’ is wandering from the current political stage to the ancient polity and back to the present, which is unmasked due to its invisible games.
