Odyssey Complex

"The world is falling apart for [Eike von Stukenbrock]. What has begun as a nice on-stage lecture in the dance solo ‘Odyssee Komplex’, is swamped by 4,000 litres of water from the rain machine and flowing into the Odyssey only seconds later. [The performer] is able to save himself onto the table, turns the white flipchart into a sail, and uses a mop to row from the Cyclops to the Sirens. Yet, his enemy remains - the stage itself. Nothing came across more powerful, funnier, and more fidgety in this season. ARND WESEMANN, TANZ
In Europe dance is a language that people don’t understand. It worries me that it might become an art bubble and we will lose connection with the spectators. We need to use pictures and poetry, make it interactive and go against conceptual dance". FELIX MATHIAS OTT
