Constructing ruins

Performance by July Weber
In the frame of Open Spaces #3-2015

In “constructing ruins“ Julian Weber interlaces exhibition and stage formats. He works in dialogue with the musician Tarren Johnson on expansive sculptures related to architecture, which in their fragile, sketchy nature provide the friction surfaces on which the transitory power of dance can manifest itself. Functional and searching bodies encounter the sculptures which collapse uncontrollably: this activates interventions in the choreographic settings and leads to a mutual shaping of material and bodies.
