The Breath and its Effect

Interaktive Lecture by Claudia Feest
In the frame of Sommer Tanz 2016

The significance and effect of our breath to our sensations in everyday life in general, and our inner and outer movement in particular.

We can distinguish between three forms of breath: the unconscious functional breath, the willfully used breath and the conscious breath.

The method of the experienced breath ("Erfahrbarer Atem"), developed by Prof. Ilse Middendorf, is a way to discover one's own breath, to experience it consciously and to get to know one's own primary rhythm. Using simple experiments, we explore the effect of our breath and allow it to resonate within us.
