Matilde Bassetti (she/ her) is an Italian dancer and choreographer based in Berlin; her work combines movement, voice, video, and collective actions. She holds a degree from the Bernstein School of Musical Theater, Bologna. She studied contemporary dance at the Rome International Dance Academy. In her artistic practice, she explores how the body performs, transforms, and resists within emotional, social, and digital systems. She is interested in creating a sensitive space where we can engage in actions guided by pleasure to reclaim our bodies free from the hierarchies of capitalist power. She is drawn to collective practices as strategies of cooperation, as a tool to imagine new forms of togetherness. Her work has been supported by the Goethe-Institute and Fonds Darstellende Künste and presented across Europe.
