Maya Selezneva is a movement artist whose work is rooted in shifting movement qualities, the sense of totality, and the tension between bodily control and letting go. Her practice explores intense physicality, groove, the power of touch, body-to-body connection, and the interplay between movement, sound, image, and language. Through these tools, she investigates human behaviour, desire, and social dynamics. Her artistic research is driven by the friction between resilience and rejection, identity and distortion, failure and visibility, asking what happens when bodies, systems, and technologies begin to break. 
Maya has collaborated with artists and companies including Saïdo Lehlouh, Olivier Dubois cie, Johannes Wieland, and naprimer d.c., while developing her own choreographic work. Her performances and dance films have been presented at festivals and venues across Europe. She holds an MA in Choreography from the Vaganova Academy and a medical degree in Psychiatry from NSMU and furthered her dance training at Nuova Officina della Danza and through the Research International Program.
