Melissa Kieffer

Melissa Kieffer is a dancer and dance teacher working internationally. After dancing for 5 years in an urban dance company in Freiburg im Breisgau, Germany, Melissa moved to Berlin to pursue contemporary dance. After having completed the Dance Intensive Program at Tanzfabrik in Berlin, she worked with Shai Faran, Maik Riebort and Andrew Wass and in her own projects. In 2018, she completed her Bachelor of Arts in contemporary dance at "La Manufacture" in Lausanne. In Switzerland and Germany, she has worked with Deborah Hay, Thomas Hauert, Jeremy Nelson, Martin Kilvady, David Zambrano, Fabrice Mazliah and Lia Rodrigues, among others. In February 2018, she premiered her solo "Memphis Belle."  After graduation, she danced in a piece by Johannes Wieland, which premiered at Dock11 in Berlin, and in "Mercury Rising" by Michael Schumacher (Forsythe Dance Company) in Amsterdam. In 2019 and 2020, Melissa collaborated with Berlin-based choreographer Alma Edelstein and danced at the Int. Tanzfestival Kulturraum Rosenhof (DE) Tanzwerkstatt, Munich (DE), Linkage, Sofia (BGR) and Mas Danza Int. Tanzfestival (SPN), among others. She currently lives in Berlin and is expanding her work to teaching and creating for herself and others. Together with Alica Minar, she has her own company which is based in Berlin and Freiburg.
