Ko Shebeen – Countering the Obvious (Postponed until further notice)

Performance by Thabo Thindi
In the frame of Sommer Tanz 2021 und Criss-Crossing Encounters 2021

ATTENTION: Due to weather conditions, the event unfortunately cannot take place on 27.8. as planned. In order to be accessible to as many people as possible, we want to stick to our open air plan and are eagerly waiting for the sun to shine. Stay up to date!

This is where we tell our stories, exchange ideas, have heated political discussions, dance to live music, relax while reminiscing about the past and plan the future. The audience become part of the play. An eclectic of partially choreographed, partially improvised performances (dance + music + theatre) intertwined with storytelling reflecting the everyday reality of Black lives. Presented in a casually engaging open scenario. The audiences become part and designers of the show through physical and/or verbal engagement. This is a show for everyone who feels the compelled to engage and change perspectives to make this world a better place for everyone who lives in it irrespective of their races, gender, sexual orientation, class and so forth.  It’s a two hour long outdoor event comprising of dance, music, theatre, reflections and storytelling while simultaneously running a visual projections which portrays the everyday realities of Black lives with the primary focus in Germany.
