As part of its residency at Tanzfabrik Berlin BÜHNE x Grüntaler 9, the Urgent Bodies collective invites the public to a Sharing of Practice. Under the title ‘Keeping collective in fragmented times’, the theme of togetherness will be at the centre of the joint artistic and activist practice.
How do we stay in relationship and commitment to each other in spite of fragmented work realities, tumultuous lives and the rupturing political landscapes? How can we organise around our political visions when physical presence in same time and space is a consistent challenge?
Our residency is a series of physical encounters that leave documented traces for the next encounter - with the aim of creating and sustaining togetherness, nurturing each other despite the conditions that seek to drive us apart. The members of Urgent Bodies come from different physical practices, cultural backgrounds and activist spaces. Our aim is to create opportunities for collective resilience to enable bodily and political movements that put life at the centre.
