Angela Alves lives with a chronic neurological condition in Berlin and works as a choreographer, dancer and cultural worker at the intersection of art, body and politics. She creates anti-ableist performances and installations informed by lived experience. Her work engages with practices of resting, quitting and cripping – practices that seek to transform ableist social, political and cultural structures.
Angela Alves studied dance at ArtEZ (the Netherlands) and dance studies at Freie Universität Berlin. Since October 2023, she has been working as an artistic associate in the Crip/Choreo/Care programme at HZT.
