Klavierstück

Performance · Premiere by Felix Mathias Ott
In the frame of Open Spaces#3-2018

The starting point of the research was an audio recording that had been forgotten for decades which happened to be discovered in the estate of the Dadaist Richard Huelsenbeck. On the recording, the artist Rafael Montañez Ortiz can be heard destroying a piano with an axe. In his duet, Felix M. Ott is moved by a piano. Through the shifting and disassembling of the instrument, the possibilities of this relationship are exhausted and with it their boundaries explored. Between internal confrontation and fearful embrace, visual worlds and soundscapes are created that reveal the inner lives of both. A musical evening in a moving way.
