Originally from Los Angeles, California Lyla is a freelance dancer, choreographer, and multimedia artist. She has toured evening length pieces with Los Angeles based dance companies on both national and international scales and has received recognition for her choreography in festivals on the West Coast. She has had the privilege of studying under Crystal Pite, Jacqueline Buglisi, Robert Moses, Michaela Taylor, Akram Khan, and Alonzo King. In 2019, she relocated to Berlin, Germany to focus more on the intersections of movement and art installations. Since moving to Berlin she has worked with Chaos Emblematic and collaborated with artists from different fields. She has also taught ballet, contemporary, floorwork, and improvisation workshops at studios in Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Berlin.
