Alterophile Lab

As part of the new Alterophile Lab project, which is supported by the Office for Theater and Dance of the Institut français Deutschland and Tanzfabrik Berlin, artists from France will work in Tanzfabrik's new project space, Grüntaler9, in the Wedding district from August 2024 to April 2025.

Alterophile Lab is intended to be more than a classic residency and to help establish a place for encounters, learning and artistic development in the heart of the neighborhood. The program aims to create a space for the development of ideas, where artists can work on and present their projects and concepts in a protected environment.

Parts of the work processes are shared with the audience in showings, lectures or open studios. It starts on September 11 with «DOPA» by artists Anne-Lise Le Gac and Anat Bosak. This will be followed by projects by Yvonne Sembene and Ivana Müller as part of the Tanznacht Forum EXPANDED from December 5 to 8. From July 21 to 27 2025, Gérald Kurdian will be in residency at Tanzfabrik with his new project "The Transition Pieces: Chant I".
