Dance Intensive

The Tanzfabrik Berlin is offering a nine-month Dance Intensive program for all those who would like to get more deeply involved into contemporary dance. Dance Intensive is a qualification program aimed at people who want to orient themselves in dance, further their dance training and / or prepare for auditions at various higher education programs and schools. Participants will have the chance to get more closely acquainted with the dance sector and gain insight into the various dance styles and genres. In this way, students can, among other things, lay the foundation for entering higher dance education directly, to prepare themselves for auditions at different institutions and schools. The program is conceived as to provide every participant individual attention and care, to strengthen their creative potential, so that they may successfully continue their dance education at the higher-level institutions. The program’s goal is to lay the fundamentals by teaching a wide range of styles and techniques while also working on the integrity of body, form, alignment, dynamics and musicality.
For the 2024-2025 training year, classes are expected to be held Mon-Fri 12:00-15:00 per week. These classes are compulsory and exclusively for the Dance Intensive participants*. In addition, further courses and performance projects of the Tanzfabrik's open course programme can be attended. The regular course programme includes the subjects Contemporary, Contemporary Ballet, Improvisation, Movement Research, African Dance, Contemporary Jazz, Yoga, Vibrant Body,Body-Mind Centering, Pilates, Feldenkrais, Butoh, Kleintechnique.
The participants will be able to work and present their own work as well as being part of group projects which will be led by teachers of the program. The Dance Intensive-Program ends with a public showing on our studio stage. All participants will also be given full support in putting together their CVs and application for dance schools and colleges. In addition to regular class participation, the participants* receive an insight into everyday dance life and can attend the events of Tanzfabrik Berlin.
Total fee of 3.650 €.
The language of teaching is English.

Application
In addition to the requested documents, please send us a short video of you moving in any context: a room, at home, in the park, on the street, etc. It doesn't have to be a set choreography - but gives you the freedom to interpret the term movement in your own sense.
↪ The video should be maximum 3 minutes.
↪ The video MUST be uploaded to Vimeo or YouTube and the link sent to us with the required passwords (if uploaded privately).
For your participation in the admission procedure, you will be invited by Tanzfabrik. Your place will be confirmed via email. The fee for the application is 30€ and must be paid on the day of your attendance to the admission procedure.
All participants will be informed within two weeks after the admission procedure whether they have been accepted into the programme. The decision about the acceptance of the applicants lies with Tanzfabrik.
To apply for the Dance Intensive Program, you must have completed school education and be at least 18 years of age. There is no age limit. If accepted into the program, a medical check-up for sports and proof of confirmation of completed school education must be submitted.
In order to be invited to the program, the in-person participation at the application process is mandatory.
The application form (pdf) can be downloaded. The completed form should be scanned (pdf or jpeg) and sent. Applications are accepted only via e-mail.
