The Tanzfabrik Berlin is part of the Making a Difference! network.
Making a Difference! is a committed collective that has been advocating since 2018 within Berlin’s dance scene—and nationwide since 2025—for the visibility, self-determination, and artistic empowerment of disabled, Deaf, and chronically ill artists.
Through accessible professional development programs, residencies, and co-productions, the network creates concrete spaces for artistic growth and equal participation. At the same time, it fosters the exchange of knowledge and experience and contributes to sustainably embedding inclusive working practices—particularly in line with the principles of Aesthetics of Access—within the dance and cultural landscape. As a production and performance venue, we see it as a core responsibility to actively shape and carry forward these impulses. Together with our partners in the network, we aim to open up and further develop existing structures, and to create new perspectives for a diverse and accessible dance practice.
From 2027 onwards, we also plan to deepen this collaboration through our own artistic projects and to realize initial joint co-productions. We look forward to continued exchange and to shaping the future of an inclusive dance landscape together.
