The Pro-Peace Circle

The Pro-Peace Circle by the Progressive Wave is a transformative series of gatherings dedicated to promoting and cultivating Peace through the powerful mediums of music and movement. We're keen to continue our pro-pace practice and hold space for healing and recovery. 

We create a space where the teachings of the Amazonian rainforest culture on the interconnectedness of all living and growing beings are embraced, and individuals from diverse backgrounds can unite in earthly, humane solidarity. Here, the universal languages of music and dance become personal, meaningful, and peace-oriented, allowing us to express our souls and practice awareness and co-existence.

We believe in the power of human interaction. Prayers, chants, and songs will interweave with guided body-mind improvisations, fostering connection and understanding among the participants and creating an immersive shared experience.

We believe in the therapeutic attributes of a circle practice. Moderated sharing moments will be incorporated, providing empowering opportunities for individuals to openly express their personal stories, experiences, and perspectives related to Peace and conflict. This is a space to engage in meaningful (verbal or physical) dialogues, listen empathetically, learn from each other, and get inspired by one another.

In a world troubled by conflict and division, we offer the opportunity to cultivate a genuine Peace practice in our realities. When the personal faces the universal, we ask to nurture mindful values with each step, melody, shared story, and human encounter, celebrating our uniqueness and resting in oneness.

The Progressive Wave is a collaborative performative initiative founded in Berlin by Israeli performance artists and choreographers Gal Naor and Matan Zamir. Their multidisciplinary approach is inclusive and interfaces dance, music, and visual art with socio-political content and consciousness studies. They produce a variety of independent and commissioned works, from dance and theater productions to art installations and site-specific projects. They choreograph human encounters in socio-creative environments and offer inclusion and empowerment workshops to groups, artistic-dramaturgical accompaniment to emerging artists, and body-mind movement classes accessible in Sign Language. https://www.instagram.com/the.progressive.wave
